Artist: Meg Aubrey

Meg Aubrey is an Atlanta based painter whose work examines the iconic suburban experience and its effects on the women who inhabit it. Her subjects are pared down and scrutinized to reveal a disquieting psychological isolation present within these seemingly idyllic planned communities.  Meg has a MFA from Savannah College of Art and Design and a BFA from Rhode Island School of Design. She has been awarded the Hambidge Residency Award from the Fulton County Arts Council, the Encore Series Award from Savannah College of Art and Design and was selected as a finalist for the Forward Arts Emerging Artist Award for 2011. Meg is an adjunct professor of Foundations Studies at Savannah College of Art and Design in Atlanta. She is represented by Whitespace Gallery, Atlanta.

Inspiration:
Amanda B.

Amanda Burden is the Membership Clerk at the Paulding County Club, where she was a member for nine years.  She says that the club helped her tremendously throughout her childhood, with SMART girls and moves, College Bound, Keystone Club, and the staff that was there to counsel her when she needed someone to talk to. The best part of her job is being a leader and teaching the youth how to lead.  The BGCMA provides a safe place with fun and engaging activities, and her goal is that every member comes through the doors excited to learn something new.
