Artist: William Schweigert

William Schweigert is a multimedia artist living and working in Atlanta, Georgia. William recently received his B.F.A. from Georgia State University, and has shown (WHAT?) extensively throughout Atlanta. William investigates familial and cultural mythologies with his work. Topics include: the ancestral war hero, the American Dream, and civil rights as it relates to both race and sex. William views the role of an artist as one who can create a useful dialogue.  This is what he intends for his work to do.

Daniel H. & Courtney G.

Daniel Hall and Courtney Gorman are currently Teen Instructors at the Douglas County Club.  The two young men are college roommates, have been best friends since high school, and both grew up in the Douglas County Club.  Daniel says the best part of his job is having a positive impact on the kids; he shows them how to be a leader and to think outside of the box.  Courtney says that helping the kids set goals and seeing them achieve them is what he enjoys most.  Both young men say that the BGCMA was their home away from home while growing up – everyone always encouraged them to be themselves and made them feel accepted, which is what they strive to do each day now that they are part of the staff.
